Here’s a short film of us, our brewery and our philosophy of beer. As you may have gathered, we love beer. We’re passionate in the belief (we would go as far as to say ‘fact’) that there is a beer out there for everyone and……well have a look and see what you think…

Oldershaw Beers started up in 1996 (as Oldershaw Brewery) by Gary and Diane Oldershaw; Kathy and Tim Britton took over in the summer of 2010. It was, and remains, a family business with the brewery standing adjacent to the family home in Harrowby, just outside Grantham.

From the start the brewery has grown steadily, expanding the range of beer, the brewing plant and the brew-house itself. We now produce about 42,000 gallons of real beer a year (that’s more than 250,000 pints) and have created more than 50 different beers since we started.

Our craft brewers use traditional brewing methods, techniques that can be traced back for centuries, employing open-top fermenters mashing in by hand and racking off each cask individually to brew for you, the very best beer that we can. And you don’t have to take our word for it, our beer has won many awards over the years from both CAMRA and SIBA.

The brewery itself is a nine barrel plant (324 gallons per brew). We have three fermenting tanks and generally three brews are produced each week.

We currently have a range of 12 regular beers, including lighter, lager style beers; hoppy, flavourful, golden ales as well as more traditional darker beers and stouts. We also create special one-off beers and seasonal brews.

Most of our beer is sold in casks to pubs, restaurants and hotels. We also provide casks for private parties. Delivering locally (including Lincoln) every week and going further afield on a regular timetable:

  • Nottingham – two weekly
  • Peterborough and Leicester – monthly
  • Derbyshire – monthly
  • Sheffield, Bradford, Leeds – six weekly
  • Norfolk – six weekly
  • Bucks – six weekly
  • Hertfordshire – six weekly
  • London – six weekly

We bottle our stronger beers (real beer has live yeast in it and so cannot be pasteurised, this means that, in our view, it must be at least 4.0% ABV for it to keep well). Our bottled beer can be bought directly from us or from some great local delicatessens and farm shops including Hallams in Grantham, Doddington Farm Shop near Lincoln and The Real Ale Store in Newark.

Our beers can be found more widely through selected wholesalers. Please give us a call if you want to know more.
